Responsible Wine Tasting
We hope you enjoy your visit to Jolene Family Winery. Wine tasting can seem intimidating, but it’s really just a relaxing way to spend the day discovering liquid treasures crafted by our passionate winemaker!
To make your experience safe and enjoyable, we recommend the following tasting guidelines:
Eat a hearty breakfast before starting your day and drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
Take your time when tasting each wine. If you do not want to finish the rest of a wine leave it on the tasting tray. Do not feel that you need to sample every wine offered - taste what appeals to you.
Be safe and always have a designated driver.
Leave the perfume and cologne at home. Besides ruining your palette, it can ruin the palette and experience of those around you.
Strike up a conversation with those around you for recommendations on favorite wineries and dining spots. Our staff are also familiar with the neighboring wineries and have helpful maps.
We reserve the right to deny service to those deemed over intoxicated by our staff, even if they are not driving. This is non-negotiable - It is the law.
Jolene Family Winery is committed to promoting moderate consumption and responsible choices about alcohol, both towards our employees and customers. Our winery staff have attended a state-supplied responsible beverage service online training, have passed an exam, and attained certification. If their training has alerted them to behaviors consistent with over-drinking you will be denied service and asked to leave in a safe manner. We will do everything in our power to make sure you arrive home safely.
